You don't need a cable needle to do this stitch and it creates a lovely little texture to the slipper sock.

The stitch pattern is written like this:

K3wrap: Knit 3 wrap by inserting right hand needle into 3^rd st on left hand needle as if to knit,

Lift stitch over the 2 sts on LH needle, then K1, yfwd, K1.
